Data migration:

Believe me, this is the most challenged task on your project on oracle fusion cloud, that’s because the effort you need to do to make it done correctly, in addition if something goes wrong it may ruin your project. that is way you should organize the way you are gathering data and provide it for data migration.

Oracle did not provide a fully automated way for data migration, it provide only data templates which you should put your data on and upload it direct to fusion.

for some modules you should provide the open transactions only, for instance: if you have invoice which partially paid to vendor, you should put this recode for only the remaining amount which will be available for paying.

The same on AR invoices, only the remaining amount will be uploaded.

that’s way you shouldn’t expect your original transaction to be migrated.

After migrating all data, stockholders will be responsible on validation and confirming it.

if something goes wrong, it can be corrected on the template and reuploaded again.

but be carful because some uploaded data can not be correct if it migrated incorrectly.

for example: if you upload GL balance and post it. it can’t be correct and the only way to fix it, is to pass GL adjustments to your system.

Also it is important to know that oracle is not providing rest factory option for your instance.

The only available option in the case of corrupted data which cannot be fixed is something called T2P request.

T2P request means test to production cloning which assume that you have clean empty test instance and asking oracle to overwrite production environment with you empty test instance.

in some cases customers buy additional test environment for this purpose.
